Architecture

Awards and Recognition
SCAD has received the 2008 American Institute of Architecture Students Special Accomplishment Honor Award for the School of Building Arts lecture series 2008, titled "Application." The lecture series was conceived in 2006 by the SCAD AIAS chapter leadership as a way to generate renewed interest in AIAS among students, further the architectural discourse of the college, open its students up to divergent and innovative ideas, and attempt to engage the mission of AIAS as stated in the national charter. The "Application" Lecture Series focuses on architecture as a tangible reality, exploring the methods and practices that take architecture from a designer's idea to a built reality.
