(M.F.A. candidate) was honored as the employee of the month in July 2006 for the City of Kissimmee, Fla. She has also been appointed to a position assuming oversight of the city’s historic preservation program.

Erica Howard (M.F.A. candidate) completed her Summer 2006 internship working with Melissa Jest at the Historic Savannah Foundation completing survey work of endangered structures in the metropolitan neighborhood.

Jennifer Adams (M.A. candidate) delivered a paper titled, “The Vanishing Legacy of the Atlanta Olympics” at the annual meeting of the Southeast Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians, September 27-30, 2006 in Auburn, Ala.

Jennifer Adams (M.A. candidate) was awarded the Ben C. Morris Memorial Scholarship, which covers the tuition costs of one course during the 2006 off-campus program to Italy.

Kevin Adams (M.F.A. candidate) was hired by the Roundhouse Railroad Museum in Savannah as its full-time architectural collections registrar.

Michael Walker (senior) had two proposals accepted for the 2006 annual meeting of the Florida Historical Society, May 24-27. The papers are titled “The Historiography of Florida’s Vernacular Architecture Through Oral Histories/The Vernacular of Florida’s Historiography” and “Gloria Jahoda’s Legacy as a Historian of Rural Florida.”
