I developed a method and apparatus to gather field data on the irises of thoroughbred race horses using infared lighting and ultra-hi resolution video camera. The data gathered on these horses was integral developing the algorithm that differentiates the irises of these animals and led to the company filing a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on December 6, 2005. David Pollard (B.F.A., illustration, 1988)and wife, Beth Thompson (B.F.A., graphic design, 1987), live in Greenwich, Conn. Pollard, in addition to freelance work, is the full-time art director for Yachting magazine. 

Juliana Polastri (M.F.A., fibers, 1998) lives in New York and is a senior designer for TaiPing Carpets (www.taipingcarpets.com). Juliana designs and developes handmade carpets for the U.S. residential and boutique contract markets.

Luis Ponce de Leon (M.F.A., video, 1998) teaches nonlinear video editing at the Art Institute of Portland. In addition to his work for Agile Industries, Razorfish, Manhattan Transfer, Modem Media, AlloyRed and CMD, his clients have included IBM, L'Oreal, Wired Magazine, N.Y. Knicks, Symatec and General Electric. His work has been featured in the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival and in the book "Portfolios Online: Digital and Graphic Designers Websites," by Kathleen Ziegler and Nick Greco.

Nate Pope (B.F.A., video, 1998) is a freelance production assistant and grip for the North American Mission Board. He works with crews setting up for productions in the field and in the studio. Ashley Poteat (M.F.A., historic preservation, 1998) lives in Greensboro, N.C., and is director/curator of the Blandwood Mansion, the oldest standing example of Italianate architecture in the United States.

Christopher Punke (B.F.A., computer art, 1998) is a senior Web designer for Red Rover Digital, the Internet services spinoff of publishing giant R.R. Donnelley & Sons Inc.   Punke leads a small team of designers who create Web sites for a wide variety of companies and organizations.

Eva Purnomo (B.F.A., video, 1998) is the Avid/video editor for SCAD TV at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is responsible for weekly show editing and in-house projects. 

Scott Ralph (B.F.A., art history, 1998) lives in Apopka, Fla., with his wife, Carolyn. He is a fifth grade teacher at Apopka Elementary School.

Jeffrey "Chad" Ramsey (M.Arch., 1998) is product designer/partner with LKP Design Associates LLC. He wrote, "After working for several years with lighting manufacturer Robert Abbey Inc., and having great success developing product for such clients as Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware and Target Corp., I have branched out to partner in a small international consulting firm, focused on the home furnishing manufacturing industry. Michael "Carter" Reedy (B.F.A., video/film, 1998) lives in Los Angeles, Calif., and wrote, "I worked with Howie Mandel editing his new show 'Hidden Howie' on Bravo in 2004. I just completed work on 'Mammoth,' a SCI FI original movie (www.scifi.com/mammoth) on which I was the additional editor responsible for cutting the finale of the film, as well re-cutting lots of scenes for character development and tone. I also recently cut the trailer for 'Who Killed the Electric Car?' (www.whokilledtheelectriccar.com), which premiered at Sundance in February 2006 and will be released by Sony Pictures Classics on June 28, 2006. Last month I completed an HD installation exhibition at the Experience Music Project in Seattle called 'Double Take.' It stars David Hyde Pierce. I continue to freelance edit for E! Entertainment as well as Vogue Magazine's show 'Trendwatch,' which is a seasonal survey of trends in fashion."

Margaret Reiach (B.F.A., graphic design, 1998) has accepted a job with Crabtree Publishing in Ontario, Canada. She will be responsible for in-house illustrations and graphic design.

Ellen Reiser (B.F.A., graphic design and illustration, 1998) lives in Midlothian, Va., and is the director of process reengineering for Xperts Inc. Reiser's responsibilities include analyzing current business processes and procedures for all functional departments throughout the company, documenting and charting business functions and proposing and implementing changes to existing processes to support corporate goals.

Nicole Roberts (B.F.A., illustration, 1998) is an artist with Buster Brown in Chattanooga, Tenn. Roberts creates artwork that is produced as screen print, embroidery, labels and repeat pattern designs for children's clothing.
