Savannah Orientation

Summer Swarm

Summer Swarm is an optional orientation session for first-year students who have paid the enrollment fee, indicating their intent to enroll fall quarter in Savannah. Sessions for students and parents are led by professional SCAD staff who are dedicated to student success. 98% of students who participated in Swarm 2012 said they felt more confident about starting SCAD because of Summer Swarm.

Students who attend Summer Swarm stay in a SCAD residence hall, eat in the dining hall, and meet with current SCAD students, faculty and staff. During this time, students have their SCAD ID photos taken and discuss fall class schedules with the student success advisers. Admission counselors and other staff are available to answer questions about financial aid and scholarships.

A maximum of 125 students are accepted per session on a first-come, first-served basis. A nonrefundable fee of $125 is required that includes cost for housing, meals and activities. Sessions for parents and family members are free. Meals can also be purchased for guests online during the Summer Swarm registration process.

SCAD will offer four sessions for Summer Swarm 2013:
