Through the office of admission, the college administers a number of scholarships for entering students. Scholarship students are expected to be particularly strong and positive leaders, excelling academically and representing the college well within the community. To be awarded a scholarship, students must apply and be accepted to the college and must request consideration for an institutional scholarship award. Scholarships are available to both United States citizens and international students and are awarded to entering students prior to first-quarter attendance.
Students may be offered an entrance scholarship from the college based on artistic and/or academic achievement with consideration given to financial need as indicated by completion of the FAFSA or other documentation. A scholarship student may receive additional scholarships from other sources, as well as additional forms of financial aid if qualified.

At the Scholarship Donor Recognition Reception, SCAD scholarship recipients meet the donors whose generosity has helped fund their education.

Admission scholarships are awarded to degree-seeking students, are applied quarterly, and may be renewed annually until completion of a degree as long as the recipient is enrolled and maintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Some scholarships offer on-campus and off-campus awards in differing amounts, with the on-campus award being 30 percent more. A scholarship student who has accepted the on-campus award but moves out of the residence hall at any time during a quarter or during an academic year is considered to be declining the on-campus award and accepting the off-campus award, thus reducing his or her award by 30 percent. Therefore, a balance due may be created. These students must then resolve any resulting charges incurred with the bursar’s office. Scholarship disbursement policies are available through the office of the bursar. An annual award is intended to be disbursed over 45 hours of credit earned in three quarters at the Savannah College of Art and Design. All scholarships for entering students must be awarded prior to first-quarter attendance.
Portfolios, auditions or writing submissions are not required for undergraduate admission, but are required from students seeking scholarships. A request for scholarship consideration must be indicated on the application for admission. Learn more about undergraduate portfolios.
