Through the office of admission, the Savannah College of Art and Design administers a number ofscholarships for entering students. Scholarship students are expectedto be particularly strong and positive leaders, excelling academically and representing SCAD well within the community. To be awarded a scholarship, students must apply and be accepted to SCAD. Scholarships are available to both United States citizens and international students and are awarded to entering students prior to first-quarter attendance.

Students may be offered an entrance scholarship from SCAD based on academic and/or artistic achievement or financial need. A scholarship student may receive additional scholarships from other sources, as well as additional forms of financial aid if qualified. Enrolled students may apply for scholarships through the office of institutional advancement.

Admission scholarships are awarded to degree-seeking students, are applied quarterly toward tuition, and may be renewed annually until completion of a degree as long as the recipient is enrolled andmaintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Some scholarships require the student to reside in college housing to receive the full award. These students may reside outside college housing and receive 70 percent of the scholarship amount. Moving out of the residence hall at any time during a quarter reduces the scholarship for these students to 70 percent. These students must resolve the charge with the bursar’s office.

A year is defined as 45 hours of credit earned in three quarters at SCAD. Scholarship disbursement policies are available in the office of the bursar. Scholarship amounts are awarded according to hours earned at the college. All scholarships for entering students must beawarded prior to first-quarter attendance.
