Office of Financial Aid

Welcome!

The financial aid office exists to process federal, state and alternative loan aid available to students.

Three offices assist students in financial matters here at SCAD: the admission office, the financial aid office and the bursar's office. Each office serves a specific role and performs a distinct function with the overall goal of assisting each student.

The admission office helps applicants apply to SCAD and helps them through the application process for federal, state, institutional and private financial aid funds. Admission staff members provide assistance to the point at which the student begins classes.

The bursar's office helps all continuing students and applicants after they begin classes through the application process for federal, state, institutional and private financial aid funds. The bursar's staff members are also responsible for helping these students with refunds, direct deposits, billing or payment due dates and all student account activity. For the students' convenience, general information such as fee amounts and scheduled due dates from the bursar's office is included in this guide. This is important, as regulations do not allow for the federal or state funds to be available in time to meet those scheduled due dates. The bursar's office is also responsible for monitoring continued eligibility for institutional scholarships.

The financial aid office is responsible for the processing, awarding and disbursement of federal, state and private loans and some institutional aid.

Communicating with Us

Students can access specific requirements and award information via MySCAD using their SCAD ID number and personal PIN number. (These are mailed to applicants in their matriculation packet from the admission office.)

All first-time SCAD applicants who have not started classes should contact their admission counselors for assistance. All continuing students and applicants who have started classes should contact their student account representative for assistance.

Call volume is very high during the peak processing time of April through September. Call volume is also higher on Mondays and Fridays; students are most likely to get a prompt response by calling on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. If all staff members are busy, callers should leave a detailed message including the student's name, question and contact number. Someone will respond as quickly as possible.
