In a collaborative project between Mayer Fabrics and the

Paola Lagioia is the winner of "Con Kleenex Expresa tu Hispanidad," or "With Kleenex Express Your Hispanic Culture," a competition sponsored by Kimberly Clark. The tissue company invited Hispanic amateur artists to express their heritage by creating works of art. Lagioia is one of three winners whose designs will be printed on Kleenex boxes during Hispanic Heritage month Sept. 15-Oct. 15. The winners also received $5,000. Historic preservation professor
Jim Abraham, historic preservation students, and the historic preservation department were recognized in the May 2 edition of the Savannah Morning News and the April 29 - May 5 edition of Connect Savannah magazine for the restoration work that they did on the Kennedy Pharmacy building that was built in 1890 and served as the neighborhood drugstore and apothecary. It is located at 323 E. Broughton St. The building opened on May 3.

Work by
Christopher Priore, an M.F.A. student in painting, will be featured in the Pittsburgh, Pa., Three Rivers Arts Festival's 50 Anniversary Retrospective Exhibition June 5-14. In 1981 and 1982, the festival commissioned a series of Priore's smoke sculptures, large-scale public pieces created with skywriting planes. He also was awarded Best Indoor Sculpture for a seven-foot tower that will be featured in the retrospective.
