SCAD offers the only M.F.A. in accessory design in the United States, giving students an advantage in the professional world. A range of expert resources, experienced professors and industry relationships distinguish the SCAD accessory design program. Students learn both the conceptual and commercial aspects, enabling them to pursue a variety of career options.
Masters of design
From sketching to cobbling to marketing, accessory design students develop a keen understanding of the history, manufacturing practice and commercial reception of their designs. In a collaborative process between students of fashion, fibers, graphic design, industrial design and others, accessory design students develop products through all conceptual stages to create a commodity ready for the marketplace.Professors with a wealth of experience in their professional careers encourage students to develop the highest level of craftsmanship expected of the belts, handbags, shoes and other accessories that customers desire and purchase.
