Suzanne Jackson was an artist-in-residence

Suzanne Jackson was an artist-in-residence on a farm in southern Kentucky assisting Laverne Zabielski for 10 days in June. Jackson studied Shibori textile dying techniques and will integrate the methods into new paintings with additions of organic textures and vibrant color. Jackson has been invited by the department of visual and critical studies at the Boston Museum School to be one of the first 40 artists included in the African American Visual Artists Database. The opening of the Internet database is expected in November 2006 and will be used for demos and presentations to collectors, curators and educators.
