First year at SCAD:

"I once heard a director respond to the question posed to him 'Why do you direct?' and he said, 'Never ask the centipede why it walks, because it will stumble.'

"Teacher/Artist/Father/Husband/Son is who I am. My teacher in high school, Ms. Barbara Maimon, saw an artist inside a graffiti writer and pulled him out of me, while at the same time mentoring me to use art to express myself and tell stories and ideas. As a teacher, I want to do the same for other artists. I love to mentor and educate students to help them find the artist that they can be, that they are, and what message they can give the world. My reward is when they become that artist, the world recognizes them and they are rewarded for their work."
