"Having come from a very small town I did not have any contact with art or art education until college my sophomore year. I fell in love with all of it: painting, art history, printmaking, drawing and sculpture. In hindsight, I believe it was my ignorance about art and then my enthusiasm as a result of wonderful teachers that has made me a cheerleader for the power of art."
