  • B.A., industrial design, Instituto de Diseño de Caracas, Caracas, Venezuela, 1996
  • M.A., industrial design, SCAD, 2003
First year at SCAD:

"Industrial design is one of the fastest-growing careers. As far as implementation and specializations, the future will be designed by a new generation, some of whom come through my classes. I love to teach because every day brings new challenges, and I like to surround myself with smart, problem-solving individuals. The word 'no' is an inspiration to work harder. Coming to work is an adventure; the students provide endless thoughts and ideas that trigger creativity and innovation."

Directed and managed the design, exploration and fabrication of two grand prix concept motorcycles for a Red Bull-sponsored competition - the motorcycles debuted in 2006 at the AMA Superbike Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, and at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix in Monterey, California; directed five Kids II-sponsored projects, with classes researching, exploring and designing toys for its Bright Starts brand as well as baby and infant gear - the success of the collaboration led to a trip for a dozen industrial design students to the company's Hong Kong headquarters
