First year at SCAD:

"Many years ago I had the awesome privilege of teaching a workshop at a local elementary school and it was very fulfilling. Being around that creative energy sparked something in me. Now having the pleasure of surrounding myself with talented SCAD students help me stay focused and grounded with my own work. Teaching has helped me to nurture and cultivate the unique qualities of each person through my personal artwork. It is my up bringing, which inspired my remarkable work. Although I have termed myself 'ordinary,' my ability to make the ordinary special through art is extraordinary."
