Previous Positions

Dexin Tian's talent for bridging cross-cultural communications has earned him such rich experiences as interpreting for U.S. President Bill Clinton's visit to Xi'an in 1998, and serving as an education consul in the Chinese Consulate General in New York City from 1999 to 2003. In addition to his numerous published papers, Tian's areas of expertise include organizational and intercultural communication, public speaking and communication research methods. Tian earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and culture and a Master of Arts in English linguistics and literature from Xi'an International Studies University, and a Ph.D. in communication studies from Bowling Green State University. Prior to joining SCAD, he taught English and communications at XISU and Louisiana State University at Alexandria.
