"I have been an interactive design and game development faculty member at SCAD for more than 10 years. My first teaching experience began in graduate school, first as a tutor and then as a teacher's assistant. It was at this point that I learned the potential of teaching as an art in and of itself. Raised in a family of educators and artists, the idea of teaching art was a natural fit. I enjoy creating a classroom environment that encourages learning through hands-on participation and permits the exchange of ideas between me, my students and their peers. I encourage students to think about the classroom environment as a place in which to explore and develop ideas. Watching students start with nothing more than a concept and raw passion and then finish with a tangible outcome while establishing lasting relationships with their peers along the way is amazing.
