The SCAD furniture design department prepares students to reflect and debate about trends and issues, develop and process creative ideas, and manage design projects from concept to execution.

Extraordinary Facilities

• The Gulfstream Center for Furniture and Industrial Design is a 43,000-square-foot facility with extensive woodworking and metal fabrication studios, bench rooms, a plastic working laboratory, welding facility and painting booth.
• The advanced technology lab includes Computer Numeric Controlled equipment for rapid prototyping and production.
  
• Computer resources including AutoCAD, Autodesk Studio, SolidWorks and Rhino 3-D complement computer-aided fabrication equipment and 3-D printers, offering vital training in industry-standard technology.
