M.F.A. furniture design students Kai-ning Huang and Francy Jones, along with B.F.A. furniture design students Paul D'Errico and Christian Dunbar, were among eight finalists chosen in the 2012-2013 Bienenstock Furniture Design Competition. Huang won first place in the competition and received a $10,000 prize.

The company designs, engineers and manufactures the furnishings and display furniture for retail stores, both flagship stores and entire chains. They have worked for Urban Outfitters, JCPenney, Gap, Calvin Klein, and more.

In this position, he will not only produce new furniture designs that fit with the image of the company, but he will also oversee catalog design, advertisements and the company's booth design at trade shows.

M.F.A. furniture design student Tim Luscher presented a paper at the International Design and Emotion Conference in Chicago, Illinois. After his presentation, his manuscript was accepted for publication. Lusher was also offered a position as a designer for Natuzzi, a giant Italian-based designer company and the largest manufacturer of upholstered furniture in the world. This is the first time Natuzzi has hired someone from SCAD.
