SCAD Student Media wins 23 national awards for college journalism

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Savannah College of Art and Design Student Media won six awards from the 2008 College News Design Contest for layout of the student newspaper District and 17 Society for Collegiate Journalists 2008 National Awards for SCAD Radio and student newspapers District and The Connector. The awards are as follows:

The SCAD chapter of The Society for Collegiate Journalists was chartered May 5, 2004. SCJ encourages student participation in SCAD student media groups and promotes the understanding and the support of freedom of student expression including freedom of speech and press for all college students. SCJ teaches the ethics, techniques and mechanics of such media to encourage student participation in local campus communications, journalism and other media.
