The Halloween parade poster design by Lauren Rolwing garnered her one SCADDY and two ADDY awards.
ATLANTA — Lauren E. Rolwing, a senior at the Savannah College of Art and Design-Atlanta, received several major awards this spring for her accomplishments in illustration and advertising design. Rolwing, who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in illustration with a minor in fashion, garnered recognition at all levels of competition — local, regional, national and international.

SCADDY — Rolwing received a gold SCADDY in the poster design division. The SCAD-sponsored advertising awards recognize work in 16 categories. Finalists and winners automatically are entered free of charge in the local ADDY Awards, where all gold-winning work is forwarded to the district and national competitions.

ADDY — Rolwing received a gold ADDY in the local competition and advanced to the regional ADDY, where she received a silver award in the student poster design division.

With more than 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition. The ADDY Awards represent the spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising, created in media of all types and sizes by entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world. The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, conducts the ADDY Awards through its 200-member advertising clubs and 15 districts.

Society of Illustrators — Rolwing’s work was accepted into the online exhibition of the Society of Illustrators, which features the best advertising, institutional and uncommissioned illustrations of the year.

Teatrio — Rolwing’s illustrations were selected to be included in the international touring exhibition Ghosts and Getaways. She will travel to Venice this summer with SCAD professor Julie Mueller-Brown for a portfolio review by experts in the illustration and publishing fields.

Teatrio invites illustrators from around the world to submit art for children’s books based on an invented theme. Out of 500 entries, the top 30 are selected by a panel of judges from different countries and different artistic backgrounds. These pieces are included in an international traveling exhibition, which visits cities across Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.

Originally from Nashville, Rolwing currently resides in Atlanta with her two cats, Corabella and Amelia. She plans to pursue a career in illustration and eventually return to her hometown.
