08/31/2007 SCAD to be featured art organization during Bloomingdale’s Artrageous 2007: Artrageous kicks off Bloomingdale’s campaign to celebrate the arts ATLANTA — The Savannah College of Art and Design and Bloomingdale’s department stores have developed an innovative and stylish partnership to showcase contemporary art, fashion, photography and design by SCAD students, faculty and alumni that will be on display throughout Bloomingdale’s stores at Lenox and Perimeter malls in Atlanta, Sept. 7–16.
The collaboration is part of Bloomingdale’s season-long appreciation of the arts, which gives patrons an inside look at artful living through the eyes of SCAD students, faculty and alumni via creative vignettes situated in the major areas of each of the stores to illustrate this artistic perspective. Each display will offer a glimpse of life at SCAD through paintings, fashion designs, photographs and lifestyle products from , the college’s informal gallery and retail store.
Special events will take place throughout the week at both locations. Artists and painting graduate students Whitney Stansell and Meg Aubrey will demonstrate their talents by in-store painting at Lenox Mall, 3393 Peachtree Road.
