"Matthew Barney No Restraint" to show at SCAD's Inspire 07: Only scheduled screening for Chernick film in Georgia

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Alison Chernick's new film, "Matthew Barney No Restraint," makes its Georgia debut Feb. 16, at the Lucas Theatre, 32 Abercorn St., as a part of Inspire 07, a symposium hosted by the broadcast design and motion graphics department at the Savannah College of Art and Design. The film, which debuted at the Berlin Film Festival in 2006, provides the viewer great insight into the working process of one of the world's most well-known media artists.

Hailed by the Village Voice as "an astonishingly voluptuous skeleton key to Matthew Barney," the film documents a recent project by the artist completed on a Japanese whaling boat. The film also features music and appearances by Barney’s partner and collaborator, Björk.

Admission to the film is available only to attendees of the Inspire 07 symposium, which will also feature presentations and panel discussions by industry leaders in the broadcast design and motion graphics fields. General admission tickets to the symposium are $50, and can be purchased online. Students and SCAD alumni can purchase discounted tickets for $25 at the SCAD box office, 216 E. Broughton St., or by calling 912.525.5050. Current SCAD students can purchase $5 tickets at the SCAD box office or via phone.
