SCAD announces additional film festival honorees: Liev Schreiber, Rex Reed, Bruce Dern and David Zucker scheduled to attend ninth annual Savannah Film Festival

SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Savannah College of Art and Design added Bruce Dern, Liev Schreiber and Rex Reed as honorees at the Savannah Film Festival, Oct. 28–Nov. 4. Academy Award-winner Tommy Lee Jones, Director’s Guild and Emmy Award-winning director Walter Hill and screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga also will be honored at the weeklong festival.

Actor Liev Schreiber will screen his first directorial effort "Everything is Illuminated," and will receive an award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Oct. 30. Reed will receive the award for Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Journalism preceding the Director’s Choice screening Nov. 1. Dern, an Academy Award nominee for "Coming Home," will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for Acting and the festival will screen his 1975 film "Smile" Nov. 2.

Other guests of the festival include producer, director and writer David Zucker who will host a workshop titled "Comedy and Film" in which he will share some of his favorite clips from his career, including "Airplane," "The Naked Gun" and the "Scary Movie" franchise. Also scheduled to appear are actor James Franco, producer and writer Bob Balaban, and actor and director DB Sweeney, whose film "Dirt Nap" will screen Oct. 30.
