Working Class Studio debuts fall collections at New York International Gift Fair

Working Class Studio, a product development venture of the Savannah College of Art and Design (, debuts new products this August at the New York International Gift Fair. Building upon its reputation for innovative design, the studio will present unique and stylish home décor products from its talented community of student, alumni and faculty artists.

"We at Working Class Studio are pleased to announce the launch of our new, eco-friendly Nani Collection Vases made from reconstituted zebrawood and glass test tubes," said Kyle Millsap, sales and marketing manager for Working Class Studio. "Additionally, we are introducing the Tommie Collection Coat Rack, a clever resting place for your jackets, scarves and caps. Both of these wall-mounted, décor products make a great addition to our ever-expanding line of unique designs. We are also excited to unveil a new collection of tabletop vases that are ceramic and handmade."

The Nani Collection Vases

This wall-mounted bud vase, designed by Nani Cabada (B.F.A., industrial design, 2010), is an unexpected work of art for your wall and a clever way to showcase your favorite flowers and foliage. The curved wood and bold stripes of the grain create a modern silhouette, while a test tube placed in the middle of the form adds a surprising twist as the vessel for your flowers.

The Nani Collection Vase is composed of a birch plywood interior and reconstituted zebrawood exterior. They are available in two sizes: a single with one test tube or a trio with three test tubes.

The Tommie Collection Coat Rack

Finally-a clever and chic solution to the over-stocked closet. This coat rack, designed by Thomas Fullmer (M.A., furniture design and design management, 2011), mimics the silhouette of a zipper, drawing its inspiration from the very thing it is meant to display. Mounted directly to your wall, it makes the perfect resting place for your jackets, ties and accouterments.

The rack is made from lightweight, powder-coated aluminum and available in three colors.

The Irene Collection Vases

The handmade, rounded forms of the Irene Collection Vases are the perfect marriage of modern sensibilities and one-of-a-kind charm. Each elegant vessel tapers to a small opening that is perfect for a simple flower or other natural find. Group the vases en masse for a modern statement, or scatter them throughout your home as subtle accents.

Each one is handmade from a porcelain/stoneware blend by the artist and designer, Irene McCollam (B.F.A., photography, 1999). The vases have a neutral crème exterior with a pop of color inside, and are available in three sizes - reed, leaf and sprout.
