SCAD announces its second annual AtlantAmation
The Savannah College of Art and Design animation department will host its AtlantAmation, 8 p.m. April 5, at the Midtown Art Cinema, 931 Monroe Dr., Atlanta, Georgia. The event features the screening of animated short films from SCAD's undergraduate and graduate animation programs in Atlanta.
AtlantAmation will showcase a collection of short subject animated films using a variety of different media from the latest in digital 3-D techniques to stop-motion and classic 2-D animation.
"This event offers the local community a rare chance to see films by a few of the university's talented student animators in Atlanta," says Matt Maloney, associate chair of animation. "The caliber of work produced by our students reflect a certain charm and dynamism to be found in their pieces while demonstrating a variety of media to create their films."
Tickets are $5 for the general public and free for high school, college and SCAD students. Following the screening, the filmmakers will be on hand to answers to questions about the process and practices used to create the animated works.
