M.A. art history student Lindsay May received the Graduate Studies Thesis Proposal Award for her thesis project "The Affected Affectionate: Devoted Middle Class Fathers Explored in Arthur Devis' Conversation Pieces." The award recognizes her considered and insightful reading of the 18th-century paintings and the cultural context conveyed through the rich visual language of the family portraits.
