Yiqiao "Yi" Wang (M.F.A., illustration, 2012) works as the artist-in-residence for Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. VL2 is one of six Science of Learning Centers in the U.S. VL2 at Gallaudet seeks to understand more about how visual processes, visual language and social experience affect the development of cognition and language.

Wang's watercolor artwork was used for VL2's storybook app called The Baobab. VL2's storybook apps are unique in that stories are provided both in American Sign Language and English. Wang is working alongside other artists to create more storybook apps.
