"CBGB" film hires Cardwell, Witherspoon, Goodwin, Lowe, Dupree, Prince, Gentry, Stevens

Nearly 50 SCAD performing arts students and alumni were hired for the feature film "CBGB," starring Alan Rickman and Rupert Grint. Twelve students had speaking roles and received SAG-AFTRA eligibility.


  • B.F.A. performing arts student Chelsea Cardwell has a recurring role on "Banshee," a Cinemax series.
  • B.F.A. performing arts student Romell Witherspoon appeared on an episode of the CBS series "Blue Bloods."
  • B.F.A. performing arts student Sarah Goodwin has secured a casting internship with Jay Binder Casting. She was also a casting intern for the film "CBGB."


  • Ivey Lowe (B.F.A., performing arts, 2012) has accepted a position with ABC as a reader for its upcoming pilot season.
  • Jake Dupree (B.F.A., performing arts, 2010) shot the feature film "The Geography Club," and has signed with a talent agency based in Los Angeles.
  • Bevin Prince (M.F.A., performing arts, 2012) has signed with AR Entertainment and secured an internship with Jay Binder Casting.
  • Alyssa Gentry (B.F.A., performing arts, 2012) and Miranda Stevens (B.F.A., performing arts, 2012) have accepted casting internships with CW network.
