SCAD alumni premiere film at Sundance Film Festival
“The Execution of Solomon Harris,” a film written, directed and produced by three Savannah College of Art and Design alumni, will make its premiere at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Jan. 17-27. The eight-minute narrative drama, part of the festival’s short film program, was written and co-directed by Ed Yonaitis (B.F.A., film and television, 2006) and Wyatt Garfield (B.F.A., film and television, 2007), and produced by Jett Steiger (B.F.A., film and television, 2006) as Garfield’s senior student film project.

Professor of the Week: Elkins shares performing arts expertise with local theater troupe Dennis Elkins, Ph.D., spent his winter break immersed in the same discipline he has taught at the SCAD for nearly five years: performing arts. Elkins, who now teaches speech courses through the college’s liberal arts department, is directing the Little Theatre of Savannah’s production of “Inspecting Carol,” which opened last weekend. After devoting most of December and the early weeks of January to rehearsals, he’s looking forward to seeing the production onstage. Read more about the professor of the week.
