Historic Preservation
SCAD has been a leader in restoring and adaptively reusing many of Savannah's architectural treasures, and has earned recognition from the Historic Savannah Foundation, the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, the Art Deco Societies of America, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the International Downtown Association, the Victorian Society in America and the American Institute of Architects, among others.

Service to the Community
Faculty, staff and students have donated design and artistic talent and countless hours of volunteer support to organizations such as the Beach Institute African-American Cultural Center, William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum, Joel Chandler Harris Home (also known as the Wren's Nest), Center for Pupperty Arts, United Way of the Coastal Empire, American Cancer Society and many others.
