- About SCAD
Nothing is more important than your good health. That is why SCAD offers medical plans designed to help you and your family live healthier lives. You have a choice of three plan options that help protect you from costly and unexpected medical expenses.
If you enroll in a SCAD medical plan, prescription drug benefits are included. Your prescription drug coverage is in the form of a three-tier benefit structure based on a formulary. Your copay varies, based on the type of prescription.
The SCAD dental plan is designed to help you pay for most necessary dental services and supplies, including diagnostic and preventive care, such as exams, cleanings and X-rays, and basic and major restorative services, such as fillings, crowns and dentures, subject to age and frequency limits.
SCAD offers a basic voluntary vision plan from BlueCross BlueShield, which covers eye exams, prescription lenses and frames or contact lenses for you and your family. Although you may select any licensed provider, you receive the highest level of benefits when you see a network provider.
